A short film commemorating Óglach Charles English

The young life and tragic death of Óglach Charles English are in many ways symbolic and symptomatic of the colonial relationship that Britain has imposed on the Irish. His brother Gary was murdered by the British army in 1981. To this day, his family has not received the justice it deserves. In 1982, Charles decided to seek his own justice by opposing British military rule on the streets of his city. He was killed in an explosion in 1985, a few hundred yards from where Gary was murdered.

This is his story.

Organised by the family of Charles English.

A short memorial event will take place beforehand at the Bogside & Brandywell Monument, Lecky Road, Derry.
