The Museum of Free Derry has announced a special summer promotion offering FREE ADMISSION for local residents and half-price entry for students every Monday from 1 June to 31 August 2026.
Alongside the summer admission offer, the Museum will also bring back its acclaimed Eyewitness lunchtime talks series throughout June. The talks will take place at 1pm every Monday from 8 June to 29 June.
Visitors can take part in a free talk with museum staff members James Toye and Noel Doherty, who lived through and were directly involved in the events explored in the museum, with opportunities to ask questions about those tumultuous years.
The summer admission offer is designed to encourage local people and students to visit the museum and engage with the history and experiences that shaped Derry and Ireland today.
The promotion will be supported by Visit Derry through activity across its website and digital platforms as part of a special summer campaign.
Located in the heart of the Bogside, the Museum of Free Derry tells the story of the civil rights movement, Free Derry and Bloody Sunday, and the community’s struggle for justice and equality through personal accounts, artefacts and immersive
exhibitions.
