In July the anti-apartheid pledge was signed by Councillor Patricia Logue, Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Foyle MP Colum Eastwood. Sinn Fein Padraig Delargy, Mary Durkan and Catherine Hutton. This important step marks the beginning of a process to move civic society towards a rejection of apartheid Israel and making the council area an anti-apartheid zone. The pledge has already been signed online by thousands of people from across Ireland.
